SENIOR MOLD DESIGNER
Creative and thorough engineer with the ability to visualize the manufacturing of a plastic parts using an injection mold. Capable of reviewing tools and mold designs, must be proficient in designing production plastic injection molds from start to finish, developing complex actions, and understand all phases of mold development. Review the part specifications, drawings and requirements and work primarily unsupervised to complete the tasks by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create designs, details, and dimensioning of CAD files and prints for the manufacturing of molds and associated tooling, fixtures, and press modifications.
Comply with customer design process, when required.
Maintain design files.
Receive, evaluate and disperse design documents.
Troubleshoot tooling and mold related issues.
Maintain document control.
Comply with all company quality requirements.
Other duties may be assigned.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, employees, and managers of the organization.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Training in 2D and 3D modeling software. Catia V5, UG NX, or Visi is the preferred development platforms.
- Experience in a mold shop or tool and mold making preferred.
